Macassar Ebony and Sycamore Inlaid Dressing Box

Commissioned to celebrate a special date. We secretly took a drawing of everything on our client’s husband’s dressing table, made a compartment for it, then designed the box.
The hinged lid above a removable tray fitted with specific-use compartments. Underneath a large compartment for passports and watches, with a two false bottomed compartments also inlaid with initials. The front with a sprung drawer for cufflinks and jewellery.

If any spillages occur then promptly wipe clean with a damp cloth and then use a micro-fibre cloth to dust and clean.
Do not leave wood in direct sunlight for prolonged periods of time as this will accelerate the ageing process and will cause the timber to discolour or even crack and/or dry out. The relative humidity in the room should be kept at an average of 45-50%. Extreme changes in humidity can cause shrinking/splitting.
All our Objects of Luxury are made for us by hand in England, by specialist craftsmen and craftswomen, many of whom we have known for 20 years. Each piece is made to order in a variety of woods, leathers and precious metals. We believe that the beauty and individuality of each piece.can only be achieved with a hand made product – these are not, by definition, all uniformly standard – but all uniquely, slightly different. Please bear this in mind when deciding upon a handmade bespoke piece.
Where possible we have sourced sustainable packaging and hope you will forgive plainer and less packaging in favour of our planet.
